Job Description

Citi is looking for an experienced Vice President, Investment Banking to join our Institutional Banking team and serve as a trusted strategic advisor to large corporate clients across capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and complex financial transactions. In this senior role, you will take meaningful ownership of client relationships and transaction execution, playing a central part in how Citi grows its investment banking franchise. You will work alongside senior leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact outcomes for some of the world's most sophisticated clients.

Job Responsibility

  • Advise corporate clients on capital raising strategies, guiding them through equity and debt offerings from initial structuring through to execution
  • Lead due diligence and drafting sessions, producing situation analyses, information memoranda, pitch materials, and investor and management presentations
  • Partner with senior bankers and external advisors to execute mergers, acquisitions, and special situation transactions end to end
  • Take ownership across multiple phases of transaction execution, contributing directly to new business development and the growth of Citi's investment banking platform
  • Act as an intermediary in client trading activities, applying market knowledge to support client objectives
  • Oversee the work of analysts and associates on live projects, providing clear direction, detailed feedback, and ensuring the quality and timeliness of deliverables
  • Identify and assess risk in business decisions, maintaining high standards of conduct and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and firm policies

Requirements

  • Ideally six or more years of experience in investment banking or a closely related area of financial services
  • Demonstrated ability to execute complex financing transactions, including equity and debt capital markets, M&A, and special situations
  • Broad knowledge of corporate banking products, including derivatives, credit, cash management, trade finance, and securities
  • Established track record of working directly with large corporate clients in a client-facing advisory capacity
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality client-facing materials independently
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience

Nice to have

  • MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Econometrics, or a related discipline
  • Experience in corporate valuation methodologies and detailed financial modelling and analysis
  • Familiarity with pertinent banking regulations and credit approval processes
  • Ability to manage multiple live transactions simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and client responsiveness
