In this Investment Banking Compliance VP role, you will act as a key member of the Investment Banking Business Oversight Compliance Team within Barclays Europe. The team provides day to day Compliance advisory services to the Investment Banking Division (Coverage/M&A and Capital Markets) of Barclays Corporate and International Bank. You will contribute to the development and implementation compliance policies and standards and ensure the effective implementation of compliance policies and procedures. You will monitor and test compliance frameworks, review products and transactions, and conduct reviews as needed.
Job Responsibility:
Identification and assessment of compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems
Identification and investigation of potential market abuse, including but not limited to, Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation or Anti-Competitive Conduct
Conduct investigation of compliance risk events or breaches. Oversight and check and challenge of corrective actions and preventative measures to avoid future occurrences
Implementation of compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and ensuring that the bank’s internal policies are aligned with international standards, including jurisdictional requirements
Collaboration with 1LOD, other relevant Compliance teams and legal, and relevant risk management functions to facilitate a comprehensive approach to compliance and risk management
Identification, investigation and oversight of potential money laundering, terrorist financing or other financial crime
Requirements:
Track record of experience in Compliance within an Investment Bank
Alternatively, experience at VP level within a law firm or in the Legal/Compliance departments of an investment bank
In-depth knowledge of the EU regulatory environment, with particular expertise in the Market Abuse Regulation and MiFID II
Fluent written and spoken French and English language skills are essential

Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with senior stakeholders across European jurisdictions
Academic credentials: University degree or equivalent
Relevant professional qualifications such as compliance, legal, or accountancy, with a preference for those recognised in the EU
