Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Investment Banking Associate with a focus on Software and Semiconductors for the Tech team within the Tech, Media and Telecom (TMT) group. This team is dedicated to building long-term relationships with decision makers (C-suite, Board) across the software and semiconductor sectors, providing strategic advice, deep industry insights, and flawless execution of complex transactions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Participate in analyzing companies and client investments across the software and semiconductor sector
  • Make strategic recommendations to clients based on market trends, valuation insights, and competitive positioning
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the Investment Banking Program
  • Review and analyze market data, valuation models, and presentations that require research, evaluation, and independent judgment to guide medium-risk deliverables
  • Present recommendations for resolving business challenges and develop expertise in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal and external clients, including senior executives and institutional investors

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire
  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire

Nice to have:

  • 2+ years of experience in software and/or semiconductor sectors within Tech
  • Strong understanding of industry dynamics, competitive landscape, and key valuation drivers in software and semiconductors
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A Master's degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of business development: business vision, strategies, and goals
