The Investment Banking Senior Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for providing bespoke strategic advisory services to clients within the Financial Technology ("FinTech") sector. The Senior Analyst is expected to work with Senior Bankers across EMEA in business origination and execution across Citi’s product set, with particular focus on episodic and strategic financing transactions, including M&A and capital markets access. The overall objective of this role is to drive revenue by cross-selling the Citi platform while efficiently deploying the firm's capital and evaluating and managing risk, specifically for financial institutions. This position is dedicated to the FinTech companies and asset managers.
Job Responsibility:
Member of deal team for the origination and execution of episodic and Corporate Finance transactions involving FinTech clients across EMEA
Responsible for staying abreast of market and industry trends, “best practices,” and competitive landscape relevant to the financial services sector
Day-to-day responsibilities include developing client pitch materials tailored to meet FinTech client needs, leading execution of episodic transactions / financings, and fostering and leveraging ongoing relationships across the EMEA region
Responsible for evaluating public filings, research reports, operations, business plans, and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analyses specific to financial institutions
The Senior Analyst will develop (i) in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the FinTech business, (ii) an understanding of clients’ priorities with the aim of identifying appropriate marketing opportunities, and (iii) strong relationships internally with key product, risk, and regional partners
Requirements:
Ideally 1 year + experience of working in a FinTech focused investment banking role or similar
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter - prepared to take the initiative to follow issues through, whilst exercising judgment as to when to seek assistance
Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment in order to meet deadlines
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
