Job Description

Investment Associate sought by a top tier energy investment platform with a growing presence across the Renewable Energy and Cleantech segments. Joining the London HQ, you will work closely with senior colleagues supporting origination and execution of principal investments across the Energy spectrum. The ambition to progress quickly as you become suitably experienced.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting origination and execution of principal investments across the Energy spectrum
  • Work closely with an Investment Director helping to assess deals
  • Leading on the financial modelling
  • Supporting various due diligence work streams

Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ experience in an analytical role in a top tier global financial institution or private equity fund, ideally focusing on the energy space across the value chain – notably in the energy transition and mobility space or mid and downstream segments
  • Strong quantitative, analytical skills, excel and power point capabilities
  • Experience in industry due-diligence and financial modelling
  • Ideally, a related degree in a technical / financial discipline and an outstanding academic record

  • Assist with the oversight and management of outsourced investment mandates for Sammons Financial Group Asset Management (SFGAM) by supporting quantitative and qualitative analysis and research for assigned strategy mandates
  • Maintain portfolio analytics, reporting packages, and quantitative surveillance tools
  • Support analysis for investment recommendations, key exposures, and risks for assigned strategy mandates
  • Support ongoing oversight of external investment managers through quantitative and qualitative analysis under the direction of the SFGAM Portfolio Management team
  • Assist in the underwriting and assessment of new fixed-income investment opportunities with external managers in collaboration with the SFGAM Portfolio Management team
  • Create and maintain portfolio analytics, reporting packages, and quantitative surveillance tools to support the SFGAM Portfolio management team
  • Develop an understanding of key factors that can impact the value of SFGAM’s investments, including, but not limited to, nationally recognized statistical rating organization (NRSRO)/ National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) rating methodology, regulatory impacts, capital requirements, and drivers of industry, sector, and issuer fundamentals throughout the credit cycle
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal investment team members, external managers, and team members throughout Sammons Financial Group Companies
  • Develop and strive to continually improve investment processes and oversight of the portfolio and third-party asset managers
