We are partnered with a growing Private Equity firm seeking an Associate. The position is on-site with Friday's remote in West LA.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in due diligence on new opportunities
  • Build financial models and prepare investment materials
  • Oversee and maintain the firm's databases and investment pipeline
  • Monitor the performance of existing investments
  • Lead research projects and benchmarking analyses to inform investment strategies
  • Develop marketing materials and presentations for investors

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • 3+ year of Investment Banking experience or PE experience
  • Understanding of LBOs
  • Strong modeling experience
  • Transaction experience

  • Assist with the oversight and management of outsourced investment mandates for Sammons Financial Group Asset Management (SFGAM) by supporting quantitative and qualitative analysis and research for assigned strategy mandates
  • Maintain portfolio analytics, reporting packages, and quantitative surveillance tools
  • Support analysis for investment recommendations, key exposures, and risks for assigned strategy mandates
  • Support ongoing oversight of external investment managers through quantitative and qualitative analysis under the direction of the SFGAM Portfolio Management team
  • Assist in the underwriting and assessment of new fixed-income investment opportunities with external managers in collaboration with the SFGAM Portfolio Management team
  • Create and maintain portfolio analytics, reporting packages, and quantitative surveillance tools to support the SFGAM Portfolio management team
  • Develop an understanding of key factors that can impact the value of SFGAM’s investments, including, but not limited to, nationally recognized statistical rating organization (NRSRO)/ National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) rating methodology, regulatory impacts, capital requirements, and drivers of industry, sector, and issuer fundamentals throughout the credit cycle
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal investment team members, external managers, and team members throughout Sammons Financial Group Companies
  • Develop and strive to continually improve investment processes and oversight of the portfolio and third-party asset managers
  • Communicate with external asset managers as necessary to support the SFGAM Portfolio Management team
