Job Description

The Investigator is responsible for conducting thorough investigations, utilising due process and detailed documentation, into child safety incidents or allegations, compliance breaches, incidents under the Reportable Conduct Scheme, whistleblower complaints, WH&S, G8 Education policies and procedures and other complaints, allegations or issues as part of G8’s Investigation Framework. This role is a national role with investigations occurring across the G8 business and centre network.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct thorough and objective investigations into child safety incidents or allegations, compliance breaches, incidents under the Reportable Conduct Scheme, whistleblower complaints, WH&S, G8 Education policies and procedures and other complaints, allegations or issues as part of G8’s Investigation Framework
  • Ensure all investigations are completed within agreed timeframes, in accordance with due process, legislative standards, company guidelines, and government requirements
  • Apply a consistent investigative methodology across the organisation
  • Prepare comprehensive reports with clear conclusions, identification of contributing factors and root causes, and recommended actions based on relevant policies and guidelines
  • Identify opportunities for continual improvement in service standards, policies, organisational processes, and practices
  • Communicate and implement improvement opportunities identified during investigations
  • Contribute to the enhancement of G8’s national Investigation Framework
  • Collect and analyse data throughout the investigation process to identify exceptions, trends, and key risk indicators
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to provide support throughout the investigation process.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Children’s Services or equivalent qualification in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Investigations or Industrial Relations is highly desirable
  • Experience conducting employee investigations
  • Knowledge of Reportable Conduct Schemes
  • Knowledge of best practice investigation methodologies
  • Excellent knowledge of legislative, regulatory, risk and policy framework affecting the requirements of government corporations
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communications skills for conducting interviews, well developed report writing skills and proven and effective stakeholder management skills
  • Adaptable, and able to change focus on short notice and to work within tight deadlines
  • Hold a valid working with children check or willingness to obtain upon commencement.
