Job Description

As our in-house Investigations Counsel - Asia Pacific and Japan, you will be responsible for managing, overseeing, conducting, and providing legal guidance on government investigations, as well as investigating allegations of violations of HPE's Standards of Business Conduct. You will report to the Director of Investigations for Asia Pacific and Japan in HPE's Ethics & Compliance Office and will be part of a global team managing external and internal investigations throughout the company.

Job Responsibility

  • Managing, overseeing, conducting, and providing legal guidance on government investigations
  • Investigating allegations of violations of HPE's Standards of Business Conduct
  • Drafting investigation reports for executive-level review and law enforcement engagement
  • Establishing and promoting effective interregional investigation, operational cooperation, information sharing and coordination channels
  • Managing high volume & complex caseloads with little oversight
  • Providing support to the Director of Investigations for APJ and other HPE partners
  • Driving the development of legal strategies by providing specialised legal expertise
  • Sharing expertise with other team members and clients through training and mentoring
  • Identifying and resolving complex legal issues
  • Maintaining and utilising information from available incident reporting and intelligence databases
  • Traveling within the region and possibly elsewhere

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Law
  • Admitted to practice law anywhere in the world or eligible to be re-admitted
  • At least 8 years of legal experience at a law firm, in-house, or at a government law enforcement agency or prosecuting authority
  • At least 5 years of hands-on investigations, compliance and ethics experience
  • International experience
  • Fluency in one or more second languages will be an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Polished interpersonal skills and excellent research and writing abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in complex situations
