Inventory Worker position for a Medical Devices Company in Sparks, MD. This is a 12-month contract role on W2 for US Citizens or GC Holders only, requiring a 40-hour work week on 3rd shift (10:15pm - 6:15am) with overtime. Initial training is required on 2nd shift (3:30pm to 12:00am) for 4 to 8 weeks. The role involves shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing materials, operating material handling equipment, and maintaining records.
Job Responsibility:
Performs physical and/or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment
Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped
Reviews customer orders, examines, stocks and distributes merchandise, products and materials in inventory warehouses, distribution centers or manufacturing lines
Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves basic issues associated with material/warehouse operations
Provides support with production equipment and other production supplies as needed
Disassembles used or faulty equipment and cleans each component of the unit thoroughly, reassembles each component, wraps and codes all according to associated procedures
Responsible for rotating dated equipment and raw materials following established procedure
May operate the autoclave and any other apparatus to process equipment per approved procedures
Responsible for delivering all production supplies to designated locations
Monitors kitchen supplies to ensure sufficient availability in order to complete tasks
Responsible for creating requisitions for ordering kitchen supplies to ensure appropriate inventory
Works with supervision, engineering and/or maintenance personnel to develop process improvements and equipment improvements
Supports the Equipment Processing team by identifying any team training needs and facilitates the resulting training with supervision as applicable
Maintains a neat, organized and clean work area
Works with and coordinates with other shifts to maintain sufficient and correct amount of clean equipment and proper condition of work area
May perform clean up functions in sterilized areas
May prepare goods for shipment to the distribution center
Do bin to bin transfers for all moves from the warehouse to the PSA’s
Hand load carts/racks equipment and deliver to production areas
Physically locate the materials in the warehouse and then perform transactions in SAP to locate them in the system
Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Must follow all BD housekeeping policies and procedures
Must follow all BD safety policies and procedures
Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements
Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic
Basic proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers) and basic use of a Windows environment is required
Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs 50% to 95% of the workday
Must be capable of passing the physical examination for forklift operations and respirator fit test
Ability to operate material handling equipment including manual and electrical pallet jacks and walkie-stacker lift
Being able to work independently and demonstrate effective time management required
Can effectively work in a team setting and communicate effectively across the department
Strong attention to detail
Ability to be punctual in order to ensure production
Ability to work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature with the skill to recognize any deviations from specification
Must be able to maintain neat, accurate and complete records and logs, both manually and/or electronically on a personal computer
Must be able to effectively manage frequent assignment changes
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to operate automated floor scrubber
High school degree with 2 years manufacturing or warehouse experience strongly preferred
Previous work experience with the use of material handling equipment (pallet jacket, forklift, shrink wrapper) – must be able to obtain in-house fork truck certification
Valid forklift driver’s license required (receive after training & physical exam by OHN)
