Job Description

Inventory Specialist is responsible for all the activities related to maintaining inventory accuracy, pricing, stock levels, item change management merchandising and resets. While engaged in job duties the Inventory Specialist will also be required to provide helpful customer service to all customers while on the sales floor.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure inventory accuracy
  • Assist with receiving, and stocking of merchandise throughout the store
  • Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area
  • Coordinate all monthly promotions including the monthly endcaps as well as execution of the monthly promotion guide
  • Oversee introduction of new items to store mix through the use of Item Change Management
  • Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time
  • Implement & maintain location codes
  • Monitor shrink and recommend ways to reduce theft and breakage in the store
  • Assist with maintaining back stock levels
  • Verify quantity on-hand
  • Ensure proper set points
  • Identify obsolete inventory and determine how to best remove it
  • Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in Inventory Management or 2 years as an Ace Sales Associate
  • High School or GED equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business
  • Employee must regularly move and/or lift 50lbs
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency
  • While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision with the ability to adjust focus

  • Unpacks incoming merchandise shipments from suppliers or returned by customers and takes part and places it on the shelf or appropriate location as indicated by the electronic scan-gun. Actions done in compliance with established procedures and quotas.
  • Pulls all orders for standard customer stock orders, special orders, and the demands of the main counter and will-call accurately and as completely as possible, routing products as appropriate and meeting the prescribed picking quota set by management.
  • Uses the electronic scan-gun, reviews out-bound customer orders for pulling accuracy, ensures safe packing of the orders for shipment to customers, and properly labels shipping trays/packages in accordance with D.O.T. standards.
  • Creates detailed summary of each shipment by way of buck slips and/or freight bills, ensures proper end processing of customer orders including removing shipping trays from conveyor system, ensures proper packaging of products, and places large parts and shipping trays for each customer on their designated skid location.
  • Plans, organizes, and loads trucks from skids to trucks for delivery to customer, accurately records piece count for customer on the buck slips, and keys freight bills into computer terminal.
  • Cleans up and disposes boxes, packing material, and pallets, as well as general housekeeping of facility and specific product line areas.
