The Inventory Manager is a leader with the ability to assess the needs of an organization and takes action attending to improve them. They communicate and work with the corporate inventory teams and key distribution leadership on a daily basis to implement and enforce inventory control systems and processes. This role also works to progress employee performance and satisfaction in order to benefit the company’s goals and objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Improving efficiencies, driving inventory reduction, implementing cost avoidance strategies across the supply chain
Ensure sites understand and execute the operational inventory strategy
Effectively communicate with your team and ensure alignment and accountability
Create and manage internal processes that support excellent customer service outcomes
Effectively manage and deliver to inventory control/reduction targets
Recruit, develop, coach and mentor employees
Turn strategy into executable, operational actions and achieve desired KPI results
Development and implementation of inventory analysis tools and metrics
Lead and manage the daily operations of the domestic inventory management team
Manage and maintain inventory levels to balance customer service with cost
Lead/participate in cross functional teams focused on optimizing/reducing key inventory levels
Partner with manufacturing plants and other supply chain organizations to facilitate cost reductions
Communicate with management teams to direct and confirm execution of company processes
Travel to other sites will be required (4 to 8 trips per quarter)
Requirements:
3-5 years of WMS - Manhattan experience
Lead a team of 30 associates, including 2 exempt associates and Wave Planners
Minimum of 5 years Inventory Control/Distribution/Operations experience
Bachelor’s Degree
Distribution, inventory, and lifecycle management required
Microsoft Office experience required (specifically MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook)
Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Strong ability to facilitate and prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines
Excellent leadership, people management, communication and influencing skills at a senior level
Strong business acuity with solid knowledge of finance, supply chain distribution and employee management
Diligent and proactive results-driven personality
Ability to coordinate, plan, manage, delegate, and oversee many aspects of the inventory function
Excellent reconciliation, problem resolution and conflict management skills
Must have strong analytical and interpersonal skills
