Job Description:

Rackspace Technology is looking for an Inventory Control Specialist II with a focus on controls and shipping & receiving to ensure the accountability and security of data center inventory. As the Inventory Control Specialist II, you will understand and adhere to company safety policies and procedures. Understand and adhere to documented inventory controls and practices, and provide service in alignment with Rackspace Core Values to include FANATICAL support.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage and process internal tickets
  • Process equipment returning to the secured inventory stockroom
  • Execute physical movements of inventory
  • Maintain meticulous 5S and housekeeping practices
  • Actively participate in the cause analysis method to investigate any customer-impacting events
  • Act as subject matter expert for process and policy alignment, also review and contribute documentation on the knowledge base
  • Participate in regularly scheduled inventory-related meetings
  • Assist in the training of new and existing controllers
  • Learn and demonstrate understanding of all safety policies, procedures, and requirements, including acquisition of any required certifications
  • Assist in the completion of all auditable controls
  • Address inquiries from other internal/external departments
  • Stock materials following industry handling standards
  • Communicate in an honest, transparent manner focused on building trust amongst customers and coworkers
  • Demonstrate no less than full performance in a continuous, consistent, measurable manner
  • Demonstrate high levels of passion and enthusiasm when providing Fanatical Support to all customers and coworkers
  • Process hard drives containing data through the drive wiping and destruction processes
  • Complete reconciliation for the cycle counting process
  • Process reinstatements
  • Process all return materials, including sub- assembly build
  • Pull and assign items to fulfill customer contracts and upgrades
  • Replenish inventory using kanban and min/max methods
  • Process materials for disposals
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and communicate with freight companies
  • Process international shipments following industry standards
  • Process inbound receipts required for custom products
  • Package all shipments in alignment with company standards
  • Completion of all shipping and receiving documentation
  • Process inter-organization transfers

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or regional equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of work experience in the role duties required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a computer- oriented position
  • Must have basic oral and written communication skills, as well as professional phone etiquette
  • Familiarity with productivity software, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and asset tracking tools
  • Able to type with proficiency and accuracy
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. overhead

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with electronic and computer components is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of an integrated inventory control system is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of the cycle counting process is preferred
  • Basic shipping and receiving experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, preferably in a field related to the role
