We are looking for an Inventory Control Coordinator to support inventory accuracy and supply management operations in Palo Alto, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical ability with hands-on inventory coordination experience and enjoys improving stockroom efficiency through data-informed decisions. The role focuses on maintaining reliable system records, optimizing par levels, and helping frontline teams follow effective inventory practices in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Job Responsibility
Manage inventory records within Lawson and keep item, location, and stock data current and accurate
Analyze usage trends and inventory performance data to recommend appropriate par levels, item placement, and stockroom adjustments
Create and maintain standard work documentation for inventory workflows and supply location processes
Train frontline employees on handheld devices and approved system functions based on role-specific access needs
Support the setup of new par locations and verify correct configuration within the inventory system
Drive process improvements that lower excess stock, reduce supply costs, and strengthen inventory control across locations
Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering utilization, inventory metrics, cycle counts, and root cause findings
Monitor inventory discrepancies, investigate issues, and help implement timely corrective actions
Conduct and audit cycle count activities, complete required paperwork, and maintain organized work areas in compliance with safety and infection prevention standards
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 3 years of experience in inventory control, stock management, or a related logistics support role
Working knowledge of inventory control methods, replenishment practices, and supply management systems
Strong computer and data entry skills, with the ability to maintain accurate information across software applications
Ability to review data, prepare reports, and use metrics to support operational decisions
Effective verbal and written communication skills in a service-oriented work environment
Ability to follow established policies, procedures, safety standards, and confidentiality expectations
Strong organizational skills with the ability to stay detail-oriented, focused, and collaborative
