Job Description:

Working as Full-time Inventory Assistant Analyst, you will be responsible for managing the cost elements and cost structures of our products. Fastenal uses several methods of cost accounting related to distribution and manufacturing of products. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

Job Responsibility:

  • Managing cost methods, item cost and procedures
  • Reviewing and monitoring inventory transactions and problem solving
  • Reconciling inventory issues with our branch locations and distribution centers
  • Reconciling inventory accounts and transaction costing to the general ledger
  • Performing inventory audits throughout the company when needed
  • Generating and analyzing financial reports

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
  • Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
  • Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency

Nice to have:

  • Possess a degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or Supply Chain

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft ERP systems and query tools including SQL
