Diploma in Nursing from accredited nursing program or Associates Degree in Nursing required
Active Registered Nurse Licensure in Arkansas or eNLC licensure with multistate privileges in good standing with the Arkansas Board of Nursing. License must be unencumbered
6 months of nursing experience required (New graduates would need to complete a residency program before consideration for this unit)
Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS within 30 days
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Previous nursing experience in Interventional Radiology, Critical Care or Emergency Department

The IR Nurse provides critical nursing care to the patient while assisting the Interventional Radiologist, Vascular Surgeon, and Endovascular Neurosurgeon in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures
every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans
you'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes

Job Responsibility

Assume a leadership role in assessing patient/family health problems and resources, with a primary focus on developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing care plans for acutely ill adult patient populations in our Imaging Services department
Provide comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care, organizing and prioritizing patient activities while maintaining a balance between patient needs and comfort
Serve as a dedicated patient advocate, utilizing holistic care practices and skillfully adapting to changes in patient conditions, such as abnormal lab results or vital signs
Management of blood samples and calculations
Sterile technique, scrub and assist physician during cases
Administration and knowledge of medications given to the patient under the supervision of the physician
Operate physiologic monitoring equipment
Operate all equipment related to IR procedures (IABP, Penumbra, IVUS, ISTAT, MedRad injector, manual thrombectomy, EKOS, McKesson pressure monitoring, venous Doppler, etc.
