Job Description

We are currently searching for an enthusiastic intern to study metabolic pathways in plasmid production, within the Advanced Therapies API Process Development department, part of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Leiden. This team consists of ~25 employees with background(s) in bioprocess design, biochemistry and molecular biology.

Job Responsibility

  • Get a deeper understanding of the interplay between bioreactor process conditions, formation of (by)products and product quality
  • Convert measured information into actionable insights that facilitate improved bioprocess development and outcomes
  • Develop predictive models in which (already available) spectra are coupled to analytes, with the goal to further develop a process analytical tool for real-time monitoring

Requirements

  • Master student in biotechnology, bioprocess development, biochemistry, or a similar study
  • Affinity with metabolic analysis for bioreactor cell cultivation
  • You are available for a minimum of 6 months and 40 hours per week
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business and project needs
