The Manufacturing Engineer / Advanced Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production of automotive components. This role drives continuous improvement, supports new product launches, and collaborates cross‑functionally to meet customer and plant performance targets.
Job Responsibility:
Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment for new and existing automotive products
Lead process development for product launches, including PFMEA, control plans, work instructions, and line balancing
Support APQP/PPAP activities to ensure successful customer submissions and program readiness
Drive productivity, quality, and cost‑reduction initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools
Troubleshoot process issues and provide technical support to production teams to reduce scrap, downtime, and variation
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Quality, Maintenance, Program Management, R&D, Suppliers) to ensure robust manufacturing solutions
Conduct capacity, throughput, and ergonomic analyses to optimize operational performance
Evaluate and introduce new technologies, automation solutions, and best practices
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field
Experience in automotive manufacturing or a Tier 1 supplier environment preferred
Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and IATF 16949 standards
Proficiency with CAD software, process simulation, and data‑driven problem solving
Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement
PLC programming knowledge (Omron, or similar) is a strong plus
