Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded International Trade Lawyer to join our client, a leading global energy firm. This would be working out of their office in Saudi Arabia. This role is ideal for a legal professional with deep expertise in global trade compliance, sanctions, and export controls, who can provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance in a fast-paced, multinational environment. This is ideal for someone looking for a life and work adventure, but still be able to advise and deal with some of the most interesting/complex Trade Compliance issues and transactions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide practical legal advice on international trade, sanctions, and export controls
  • Develop and implement compliance procedures across export controls, FDI, antiboycott, customs, and WTO obligation
  • Identify trade risks and design effective mitigation strategies
  • Support and enhance internal export control and compliance programs
  • Conduct due diligence for transactions, acquisitions, and new business activities
  • Deliver training on trade compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with business leaders to implement legal and compliance frameworks
  • Manage external counsel and support global operations, subsidiaries, and joint ventures
  • Monitor regulatory developments and support audits and compliance reviews

Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer in good standing in the US, Canada, UK, or EU
  • Law degree from an accredited institution
  • 6+ years’ experience in international trade law (law firm or multinational)
  • Strong experience in economic sanctions and export licensing regimes
  • Commercial mindset with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • High ethical standards and sound judgment
