Job Responsibility:

  • Undertake social safeguards screening, categorization and due diligence
  • Review ADB’s Safeguards Policy Statement (2009), The Handbook on Poverty and Social Analysis
  • Handbook on Resettlement: A Guide to Good Practice
  • Handbook on Strengthening Participation for Development Results: A Staff Guide to Consultation and Participation
  • and other relevant references
  • Undertake other safeguards-related tasks as required by ADB and PIU

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in social sciences or relevant disciplines
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in resettlement works, including preparation of Resettlement Plans (RP), Indigenous Peoples Plans (IPP), and social assessments
  • Working experience in urban infrastructure projects financed by ADB or other multilateral development agencies in Cambodia
  • Proven capacity for problem analysis and solving, conducting fieldwork, and providing guidance and advice to government staff, national consultants, and contractors during project planning and implementation
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Prior experience working in Cambodia will be an advantage
