Job Description:

The Internal Ombudsman role ensures customer satisfaction and enhances the bank's grievance redressal process by dealing with complaints that have already been examined by the bank but were partly or wholly rejected.

Job Responsibility:

Analyze pattern of complaints (product/category wise, consumer group wise, geographical location wise)
Examine complaints based on records available with the bank
Record reasoned decision in each case
Seek additional information and documents from complainants
Hold meetings with concerned functionaries of the bank
Furnish periodic reports to Customer Service Committee/Consumer Protection Committee of the Board
Provide inputs for policy intervention
Use complaint analysis for training programs
Serve as ex-officio member or permanent invitee to Board's Customer Service Committee meetings

Requirements:

Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work independently and impartially
Minimum seven years of experience in banking, non-banking finance, regulation, supervision, payment and settlement systems, credit information or consumer protection
Retired or serving officer in rank equivalent to General Manager of another bank/Financial Sector Regulatory Body/NBSP/NBFC/CIC
Not previously or presently employed by the regulated entity or its related parties
Not over 70 years of age before completion of tenure
Required certification/equivalent qualification as per RBI Mandated Capacity Building Policy
