Job Description:

We're looking for someone to play a pivotal leadership role in our Internal Audit team and provide critical independent assurance on a portfolio of audits in our IT and Change space, including a large and complex Technology change programme at an exciting time, both for the Society and the function as we continue to embed our purpose and deliver business growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Play a pivotal leadership role in the Internal Audit team
  • Provide critical independent assurance on a portfolio of audits in IT and Change space, including a large and complex Technology change programme
  • Work alongside the Technology team on the Core Platform replacement programme
  • Lead on the internal audit assurance approach for this change and the delivery of the plan
  • Shadow the Core programme
  • Offer constructive and live challenge to support the business to establish and manage the risks
  • Articulate findings and prepare outcomes to share with Exec Transformation and Audit committees
  • Oversee the more traditional audits on the audit plan, the majority being in IT and Change
  • Shadow other key programmes
  • Be a member of the Enterprise Leadership Group focussing on embedding new strategic drivers and reinvigorated blueprints across the Society

Requirements:

  • Strategic leader with in-depth knowledge of IT and Change
  • Impactful track record of delivery of assurance programmes for large scale projects, ideally within Financial Services
  • Trusted, credible partner used to operating at a Senior Leadership level
  • Ability to influence and effectively contribute
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills
  • Significant technical capability with advanced assurance skills, including planning, delivery and reporting
  • Knowledge of internal audit methodology and modern auditing techniques
