The Division of Internal Oversight Services (IOS) provides the Director-General with an independent and objective assurance that programmes are delivered efficiently and effectively. The intern will perform functions that support the development of strategies for safeguarding and protecting the Organization's interests.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in conducting audits of selected operations
Assist in gathering audit evidence and formulating audit/research plans
Assist in examining records, documents, or assets
Assist in analyzing financial and other data
Contribute to documenting audit findings and drafting parts of Audit reports
Contribute to developing internal audit methodology, tools, and techniques
Assist in following up on management responses and implementation of audit recommendations
Assist with the development of policies and procedures pertaining to administrative investigations
Assist with the development of core systems supporting the investigation function
Support investigation function in assessing allegations of misconduct
Assist in reviewing cases reported to IOS
Assist in drafting investigation-related documents
Assist in conducting interviews
Assist in identifying, collating and analyzing potential evidence
Assist with editing and review of investigation reports
Support the Evaluation function in assessing UNESCO programmes and projects
Assist in carrying out corporate evaluations, particularly with data collection and analysis
Support decentralized evaluations managed by other UNESCO entities
Support the dissemination of evaluation findings and recommendations
Requirements:
At least 20 years old
Currently enrolled in the 3rd or final year of a Bachelor's degree, OR currently enrolled in a second university degree (Master's, PhD, or equivalent), OR have completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree within the last 12 months
Excellent command, both written and spoken, of English or French
Excellent knowledge of computer systems and office-related software
Ability to work well in a team and adapt to an international working environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Nice to have:
A working knowledge of the other language (English or French)
