As Intern Sustainability, you will be a part of the core function of Westwing that drives the realisation of sustainable products for our customers, with a constant focus on social and environmental compliance. This position is limited to 6 months and based in Munich.
Job Responsibility:
Support EPR data and certification collection, including supplier follow-ups and preparation of data under newly defined processes
Contribute to timber and deforestation regulation compliance by supporting due-diligence process updates (e.g. buying manual, training materials), researching regulatory requirements for upcoming go-live countries, and assisting with osapiens configuration and testing
Support product carbon footprint data collection, including preparation of quality-control documentation and cross-functional coordination to ensure green claims compliance
Review, organise, and upload external social and environmental audit reports
administer the amfori platform
and follow up with suppliers on BEPI self-assessments and training completion
Support the documentation of sustainability KPIs and data-collection processes in Confluence, and conduct background research on climate risk and scenario methodologies
Leverage AI tools to streamline data collection, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance analysis and reporting processes within sustainability projects
Requirements:
An educational background in sustainability, environmental studies, human rights, or business administration
Consulting experience, and/or a strong ability to structure work, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel
experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI is a plus
Hands-on experience with project/ task management tools, especially Asana, and confidence working with knowledge management and documentation systems (e.g. Confluence)
Clear and engaging communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing content and coordinating with stakeholder
The ability to learn quickly and work independently in a dynamic setting
Fluency in English
German language skills are a plus, especially for translation and proofreading tasks
