Job Description:

As an Amentum Space Exploration Division (ASED) intern, you will work alongside engineers and scientists on hardware development, payload integration & operations, laboratory & test operations, modeling & simulation, space environments, scientific research and propulsion systems for programs like Human Landing Systems, Space Launch Systems and the International Space Station!

Job Responsibility:

  • Work with senior mechanical engineers with models in support of the Space Launch System (SLS) program as well as other new and existing programs at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center
  • Aid in the development of designs for flight and non-flight hardware, primarily consisting of packaging of Avionics boxes and provide engineering design functions for time critical hardware designs
  • Work with senior engineers to provide support which may include electrical integration and systems engineering support for design and testing of electrical systems

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate student currently enrolled in science, technical, engineering, math or related degree program leading to a BS degree, preferably at an ABET accredited institution
  • Must be able to provide own transportation
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to multi-task and transition between assignments
  • Show initiative, be proactive and detail oriented
  • Work independently and collaboratively
  • Have completed sophomore year of university studies and be in good academic standing
  • Maintain an overall average of 3.0
  • Demonstrate strong technical aptitude
  • Display an interest in machine learning applications to engineering
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Knowledge of CAD 3-D modeling and 2-D drafting
