This 13-month placement offers a unique opportunity to work within our central Total Rewards team, supporting the operational management and strategic development of employee benefits programs across international countries (excluding the US/Canada). You will gain hands-on experience in global operations, compliance, policy research, and benefits administration, forming the bedrock of our international benefits team.
Job Responsibility:
Operational Management & Administration: Vendor and Policy Management: Assist in the day-to-day administration of international benefit plans and assisting on any project work to transition process to People Operations
Employee Support: Serve as a point of contact for routine international benefits queries, working closely with local HR teams to ensure accurate interpretation and application of policies
Communications: Supporting our communications stakeholders on any information gathering needed to aid in the creation of employee resource materials
Data Integrity: Supporting the Communications Team on maintaining and updating comprehensive internal documentation, ensuring all country-specific benefit guides and scheme summaries are current and easily accessible
Onboarding & Offboarding: Support the benefits enrolment and termination processes for international new hires and leavers
Auditing: Process frequent auditing of benefits enrolment membership to support regular reporting and billing requirements
Time Off & Leaves: Support the strategy of time off and leave testing
Financial & Invoicing Support: Invoice Processing: Take ownership of and define the monthly invoicing process for global benefit vendors. This includes review, reconciliation, cost allocation across different legal entities, and submission for payment
Budget Support: Assist the Benefits team with annual budget tracking and cost analysis related to international benefits spend
Auditing: Support internal and external audits by gathering required benefit documentation and reporting
Research & Policy Development: Policy Benchmarking: Support the team on the researching of mandatory and market-competitive benefits in new or existing international markets, including compliance checks (e.g., local legislation changes)
Program Implementation: Support the roll-out of new or harmonized benefits policies across regions, helping to localize communications and documentation
Ad-Hoc Projects: Provide dedicated support on high-priority, ad-hoc projects, such as annual enrolment cycles, due diligence for acquisitions, or well-being initiative launches
Technology: HR Enablement: Utilising the increasing involvement of AI tools, supporting and seeking solutions to bring AI into the benefits function including how processes could be automated
Data Transfer: Working on reporting and data feed integrations with vendors who support SFTP to maintain our security policies globally
Systems: Support employee and HR queries through our ticketing system (Service Now) and through our HRIS, Workday
Requirements:
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Management, Finance, Law, or a related field, and seeking a 13-month placement as part of your degree
Exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail, particularly with data, figures, and legal/policy documents
Strong verbal and written communication skills
ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and professionally
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data manipulation) for invoicing and reporting
A strong curiosity about different cultures and international business practices
A sense of humour, fun and willingness to get involved in everything we do
Must have the permanent right to work in the UK for the duration of the 13-month contract
Must be a second year undergraduate student on an industrial placement year course returning to study in Autumn 2028
Must have the right to work in the UK already in place
Available to start working full time from July 2026
Nice to have:
Exposure to international business environments
Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP)
