Job Description:

The internship opportunity in the Credit Advisory department of HSBC in Geneva, Switzerland, is a 6-month full-time program dedicated to providing practical experience in private banking. It offers an opportunity to learn about credit risk assessment, portfolio management, and delivering tailored solutions for clients. The role is supported by experienced managers and a network of colleagues, focusing on professional and personal development through real-world projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Recommend and review documentation
  • Monitor the adherence to published guidelines including the implementation of any changes in GPB Credit risk appetite
  • Stay abreast of legal and regulatory changes and industry trends
  • Balance objective of risk management and client
  • Change debt structure/risk ratings in response to changes in risk
  • Actively work to maintain and improve portfolio quality and prevent loss
  • Handle enquiries and provide guidance to business (RMs) in identifying, structuring and marketing suitable credit solutions
  • Underwrite and execute both loan and derivative structures, perform high quality analysis, due diligence and credit presentations
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the content and aggregate risks within an assigned portfolio, trends and other KRIs
  • Recommend credit structure and assess risk

Requirements:

  • Be available to work full-time between February 2026 to July 2026
  • Studying in a Swiss School and under master degree graduating in 2026
  • Have well-developed language skills in English (French and other languages would be advantageous)
  • Have solid Office skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Due to immigration restrictions in Switzerland we will only be able to consider applications from Swiss or EU citizens or from candidates holding a valid Swiss work permit
