This internship is part of the Regulatory Affairs crew—a team known for its collaboration and support to our WM Healthcare Solutions (Stericycle) business.. You’ll get to explore the regulations behind medical waste and how they impact our customers and services, learn how things work behind the scenes, and help WM drive purpose in everything we do.

Job Responsibility:

  • Uses problem solving skills, determines problems, and understand fundamental parts of the problem
  • Conducts analysis as directed, and prepares and delivers insights and recommendations based on analysis
  • Synthesizes findings and draws conclusions from analyses and makes oral/written recommendations to supervisor and/or manager
  • Executes tasks directly related to functional projects and/or process improvements
  • Communicates issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility
  • Participate in meetings to support the team for projects, office hours, and potentially training sessions
  • Research requirements and background information to support projects
  • Work collaboratively and interface with multiple teams as part of project support
  • Evaluate format and content of materials using provided support resources
  • Work with Regulatory Affairs Team on opportunities to share regulatory information related to our products and services with team members and customers
  • Consolidate research on regulated medical waste regulatory requirements into customer facing resources

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED (accredited)
  • Be pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree (accredited) in a field of study relevant to the internship
  • Interest in waste management, the environment, compliance, law, employee health and safety, healthcare, and / or sustainability
  • Self-starter and ability to work well independently as well as in team environments
  • Research capabilities
  • Data input and management in different platforms
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to apply provided information contextually to situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and conversation
