Job Description

We are looking for an intermodal dispatcher to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating combined transport operations between CN/CP rail terminals, the Port of Montreal, and our customers. This key role ensures operational fluidity, adherence to delivery deadlines, and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the pickup and delivery of freight at customer locations
  • Fast and efficient dispatching to ensure a high level of service is maintained
  • Planning and execution of online container movements
  • Maintaining discipline with our owner-operators
  • Communicating with drivers at defined intervals to manage service expectations and identify issues
  • Tracking and tracing intermodal units via CP and CN rail portals
  • Resolving and responding accordingly to calls from customers as well as the customer service group

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of the transport sector in general, with atleast 3 years experience in container/intermodal
  • Excellent knowledge of various transportation softwares
  • Experience dealing with Montreal port
  • Good knowledge of the territory (asset)
  • Degree in transportation and logistics / supply chain (asset)
  • Strong customer service and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
