We are seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Systems Testing/QA Specialist for an 18-month engagement in Toronto. This role is central to ensuring the quality and integrity of critical public health applications, including iPHIS, OHISS, TIS, and Panorama. You will be responsible for the end-to-end testing lifecycle, encompassing functional and non-functional testing, automated script development, and complex data validation within a healthcare context.
Job Responsibility
Perform functional and non-functional testing for mission-critical health applications, including integrations, enhancements, and defect resolutions
Create and maintain comprehensive QA documentation, including test plans, cases, scripts, results reports, and defect logs
Develop and execute automated test scripts using frameworks such as Selenium to improve testing efficiency and coverage
Query and test interfaces at the messaging layer using tools like SOAP-UI and Postman, focusing on HL7-FHIR based web services (RESTful/JSON/XML)
Execute complex data queries using SQL to ensure data integrity within Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and Cognos reports
Test security components (SAML/JWT) and perform accessibility testing to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.0 and AODA legislation
Work closely with architects, developers, and product owners to establish effective test plans and participate in triage sessions
Validate successful deployment of releases in production environments and provide technical sign-off recommendations
Requirements
5+ years of experience in Systems Testing/QA, with a strong background in object-oriented environments and the full SDLC
3+ years of experience working with public-sector healthcare providers and health-related IT projects
Proven expertise in testing COTS solutions, web applications, and HL7-FHIR web services
Hands-on experience with Selenium, JIRA, Confluence, TestRail, and API testing tools (SOAP-UI/Postman)
Strong ability to perform ad-hoc data queries and information retrieval using SQL
Demonstrated knowledge of testing security protocols (SAML, JWT) and web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0)
Familiarity with Public Sector I&IT project management methodologies, gating processes, and enterprise architecture artifacts
Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, leadership ability, and a track record of meeting strict deadlines
