Job Responsibility:
Provides project planning and control support across customer and internal projects
Develops, maintains, and reports integrated schedules to support delivery, decision-making, and risk management
At a Senior level, provide technical leadership by setting good practice, coaching others, and acting as a trusted schedule advisor to project leaders and customers
Develop and maintain project schedules (integrated master schedules) in line with project scope, assumptions, and contract requirements
Work with project managers and subject matter experts to define activities, logic, dependencies, milestones, and resource/cost loading as required
Perform schedule status updates, progress measurement, and short-term forecasting
calculate and communicate critical path and schedule drivers
Produce schedule reports and dashboards (e.g., milestones, look-ahead, variance, SPI/earned value indicators where applicable) for internal and customer use
Support schedule risk management by identifying schedule drivers, constraints, and opportunities
contribute schedule data to risk, cost, and change control processes
Apply basic schedule quality checks (logic, constraints, lags/leads, float, baseline integrity) and correct issues with guidance as needed
Lead schedule planning and control for complex work packages or programmes, including integration across multiple teams, suppliers, and locations
Define scheduling approach, standards, and governance (e.g., WBS alignment, coding, calendars, baselining, update cadence) and ensure consistent adoption across the project
Provide schedule analysis and advice to project leaders and customers (e.g., scenario modelling, what-if analysis, recovery planning, critical path mitigation)
Own schedule quality and integrity, including advanced checks, baseline management, and independent review of team schedules and submissions
Coach and mentor schedulers and project team members
contribute to PS capability development through templates, guidance, and knowledge sharing
Represent scheduling in customer engagements, workshops, and reviews
deliver clear, confident presentations and facilitate schedule discussions
Requirements:
Practical experience building and maintaining project schedules in Primavera P6 (or equivalent)
Experience developing schedules with subject matter experts and working within multidisciplinary teams
Working knowledge of scheduling fundamentals (logic, constraints, baselines, critical path, float, progress measurement)
Clear written and verbal communication skills in English, including presenting schedule information to small groups
Demonstrated experience leading schedule development and control on complex projects (e.g., large integrated master schedules)
Ability to provide schedule analysis and recommendations to project leadership and customers (scenario modelling, recovery planning, decision support)
Experience coaching/mentoring others and contributing to capability development (standards, templates, training, peer review)
Ability to demonstrate BMT Level 4 behaviours
Membership in a professional organization relevant to your area of expertise
Scheduling certification (e.g., PMI-SP, PSP, or equivalent)
Knowledge of the Canadian Armed Forces structure and practices
Fluent in French
A practical area of specialty such as finance, procurement, operations, performance, staffing in a government setting, or risk management
