Job Description:

Reinbold Engineering Group is a national mechanical engineering firm with offices located in Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton and Kelowna. Our company specializes in designing HVAC and plumbing Mechanical design for commercial, healthcare, institutional, residential, and mixed-use high-rise projects. Currently, we are seeking an Intermediate REVIT Mechanical Designer for our Calgary office as we expand and grow.

Job Responsibility:

  • Placing and sizing of distribution systems and equipment following industry standards and
  • Perform load calculations using the company-provided software
  • Selection of mechanical equipment working directly with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Preparation of schematic design, design development and construction documents in either AutoCAD or REVIT, and adhere to Reinbold Design Standards and Guidelines
  • Assist with Contract Administration, including shop drawing review, RFI responses and on-site review
  • May attend design and construction meetings with the client, other consultants and the contractors

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering and accreditation as a Professional Engineer: P. Eng. or PE in the jurisdiction in which they are working is an asset
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience
  • Canadian experience in mechanical HVAC and Plumbing design is a must
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, heating, cooling, and air handlers. Ability to interpret construction drawings
  • Strong knowledge of current codes and standards, such as the local plumbing and local building codes
  • Experience using building heating and cooling load calculations
  • Understanding of software programs (Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT)
