Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. (KCB) is seeking an Intermediate Geochemist to support our mining and environmental consulting services. Job Responsibility:
Conduct geochemical analyses of soil, rock, and water samples to assess environmental impact and identify potential risks associated with mining activities
Develop and implement geochemical models to predict long-term trends and assess the effectiveness of mitigation measures
Collaborate with engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, and environmental scientists to design and implement monitoring programs and remediation strategies
Prepare reports, presentations, and regulatory submissions to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and regulatory authorities
Stay current with industry developments, and best practices in geochemistry
Work with junior staff and providing guidance
Complete field work and business travel within Canada and Internationally as Project work requires
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or Environmental Geoscience specializing in Geochemistry or equivalent
Minimum four years' experience related to geochemical analysis
Professional or member-in-training registration (e.g., P.Geo., P.Eng.)
Valid driver's license, Class 5
Nice to have:
Experience with geochemical modeling software such as PHREEQC and Geochemist's Workbench, Python, R, GIS, database software, Power BI, Goldsim, Leapfrog, Openground, and/or multivariate statistical packages
Experience in environmental consulting and/or the mining sector
Ability to work flexible hours as required for projects
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English including experience in writing proposals, technical reports, and general project correspondence
Comprehension and application of health, safety and environmental principles
