Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate or Senior Electrical Engineer with nuclear industry experience to support engineering projects for Bruce Power. This role is primarily site-based at Bruce Power; however, the successful candidate will be permitted to work remotely with approximately 1–2 site visits per month as required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering within a nuclear generating station environment and experience supporting engineering design, modifications, upgrades, and plant operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide electrical engineering support for nuclear plant projects and station modifications
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, design packages, and engineering change documentation
  • Perform electrical system analysis and assessments to support plant operations and capital projects
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and station procedures
  • Interface with multidisciplinary engineering teams, operations, maintenance, and project stakeholders
  • Support troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and resolution of electrical system issues
  • Participate in design reviews, technical evaluations, and field walkdowns as required
  • Provide technical recommendations to improve system reliability, maintainability, and performance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or eligible for registration
  • Intermediate to Senior level engineering experience
  • Previous experience within the nuclear power industry
  • Active Bruce Power security clearance, or active OPG security clearance that can be transferred
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems in a power generation environment
  • Experience preparing and reviewing engineering documentation and technical reports
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting Bruce Power or OPG nuclear facilities
  • Knowledge of nuclear quality assurance programs, CSA standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with plant modifications, design changes, and engineering change control processes
  • Familiarity with station electrical systems including power distribution, protection and control, instrumentation, and related plant systems
