We are looking for a creative, passionate, and driven design professional who wants to get in on the ground floor to help us build a great practice and culture working on multi-family, mixed-use, commercial office, and higher education projects. You’d be joining us in our new office located in the heart of Downtown Seattle in the Historic Skinner Building, with easy access to Pike Place Market and public transportation. SCB Seattle, working in tandem with our San Francisco office, is already at work on several exciting projects in the Pacific Northwest and Canada.
Job Responsibility:
Working on foundational aspects of projects under the direction of a Senior staff or Principal-in-Charge, across all project phases
Supporting the development of design and technical drawings, visualizations, and studies as directed by project leaders
Assisting with design, drafting, rendering, and the creation of digital and physical models
Understanding the overarching project design philosophy in executing your work
Managing time and organizing tasks effectively to meet project deadlines
Collaborating with team members and communicating clearly with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrating knowledge of building materials, construction systems, detailing, and basic construction methods
Applying basic zoning, building, and accessibility codes to assigned work
Seeking guidance when needed, while also showing initiative in problem-solving
Supporting the project and studio team with a positive, team-first attitude and a willingness to learn
Requirements:
Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program
7-10 years of post-graduate architectural experience
Licensed Architect in the US preferred
Type 1/Type 3/Type 5 multi-family residential project experience
Values superior client service
Have a passion for design, a pulse on emerging trends, and a developed point of view about your work
Acute attention to detail and aesthetic sensibility
Enthusiasm for utilizing a diverse set of approaches to creative problem solving
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, hands-on, creative environment
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, SketchUp and/or Rhino, Affinity Publisher/Photo, and Adobe Creative Suite
Familiarity with tools such as Grasshopper and 3ds Max
Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills with the capability to influence design outcomes
Nice to have:
Commercial office and higher education project experience a plus
