Randstad is excited to partner with a leading name in the aviation industry to find a talented Intermediate Accountant for a critical backfill role (3-month contract). This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your expertise to a high-performing team and play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of a major organization. As an Intermediate Accountant, you won’t just be following a manual; you’ll be expected to challenge the status quo and find ways to make workbooks and processes even better.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform detailed accounting and reporting activities monthly to support an accurate and timely period-end close
  • Posting monthly accruals, reclasses and other journal entries
  • Developing, completing, and refining balance sheet reconciliations and investigating any anomalies to expectation
  • Preparing variance analysis on monthly and quarterly data
  • Actively partner with various teams across the organization to assist with ad-hoc reporting, analysis, projects, and decision support as required

Requirements:

  • Completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, or CMA) OR successful completion of the CFE and currently working toward experience requirements
  • Foreign designations are welcomed and recognized
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role with a track record of progressive responsibility
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (Pivot tables, V-Lookups, and a knack for workbook automation/improvement)
  • Strong analytical thinking, exceptional attention to detail, and the communication skills necessary to build relationships across the organization

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience using JD Edwards or similar large-scale ERP software
  • Experience with reporting systems such as Hyperion
  • Prior experience within large, complex corporate structures or aviation/transportation sector

  • Hybrid schedule, 2 days working remotely
  • while month-end requires a push (up to 50 hours in the first week), the organization values balance
  • you are expected to work fewer than 40 hours in subsequent weeks to compensate
