We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves overseeing a variety of accounting functions, including operational tasks and specialized financial management for projects and donor-funded initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Process and manage vendor invoices while ensuring outgoing payments are completed on time
Reconcile invoices, maintain accurate vendor records, and resolve discrepancies as needed
Oversee payroll processing, including benefits management and allocation tracking across funding sources
Manage accounts receivable by invoicing clients, tracking outstanding balances, and following up on overdue payments
Record all income types, such as donations, receivables, and check payments, into accounting systems with appropriate documentation
Issue thank-you letters for donations and maintain donor information in the CRM system
Reconcile credit card payments and ensure timely data entry into the accounting system
Track construction project expenses, manage budgets, and prepare detailed financial reports
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and donor requirements while managing project funding allocations
Collaborate with project managers and donors to ensure proper financial oversight of initiatives
Requirements:
Proficiency in handling journal entries and maintaining the general ledger
Experience with account and bank reconciliations
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and vendor management
Ability to manage payroll and track staff allocations across multiple funding sources
Skilled in managing accounts receivable and resolving billing discrepancies
Knowledge of CRM systems for donor tracking and communication
Familiarity with financial management for construction projects and donor-funded initiatives
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy
