Lead interior projects from design concepts, programming, budgeting, presentations, interior finishes, appropriate flooring application, and color scheme. Develop, manage and record technical aspects of University interior design projects. Work closely with campus Interior Designer, Project Managers and project teams on conceptual designs, presentations, design development and production within the scope of the goals of departments and University.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare design concepts, drawings, and/or coordination of interior spaces in support of projects
Manage selection of appropriate flooring application for use of space, schedules installations and inspection of installations
Provide technical assistance within design, development, alteration and/or repair of furniture, fixtures and/or equipment in buildings
Assist with coordination of agency carpet contracts (i.e., carpet tiles, broadloom, LVT, VCT, wall and floor ceramic tile, rubber tiles, cove base) throughout campus, including auxiliaries space
Compile cost estimates including flooring, furniture, fixtures and equipment
Maintain project and drawing records to ensure contracts and specifications are within regulations as established by the University and state and federal agencies
Prepare renderings and concept drawings using the appropriate software where required
Conduct space planning in AutoCAD with knowledge of ADA compliance and life safety
Coordinate and facilitate move-in meetings for projects and interior renovations
Plan furniture layouts for all spaces (i.e., offices, conference rooms, classrooms, computer labs, cubicles, lobbies, auditoriums)
Manage the selection of appropriate furniture to optimize space usage while upholding campus standards. Coordinate installation schedules and oversee product inspections
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field from ASID accredited institution
Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in interior design, space planning, or related fields, with demonstrated project management and design execution skills
Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
Ability to analyze while multi-tasking
Ability to assess projects and communicate with multiple stakeholders on solutions
Ability to manage projects to fit budget, deadline and timeline decisions
Ability to read and comprehend blue prints, specifications and standards, and technical literature
Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
Knowledge of ADA standards, Building and Life Safety Codes
Proven success in project management
Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills

Proficiency with computer aided design software including but not limited to AutoCAD, Revit, and Photo Shop

Legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the University
Nice to have:
Two (2) to five (5) years or more of experience in interior design
NCIDQ certification or intent to obtain NCIDQ certification within two (2) to five (5) years of employment
