Full-time Interior Design Summer Intern to work as part of a team to assist with the design and execution of successful projects through construction. This is a temporary role, and this candidate should be actively pursuing a degree in interior design, interior architecture, or architecture. The position reports to the Senior Technical Architect.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate as part of a team and work on a wide range of projects through all phases of design and construction
Assist in the production of accurate technical drawings, documents, and project specifications, apply established interior design standards
Use project checklists and HHA-established standards during all project phases
Participate in building assessments and field verification activities
Generate interior architecture concepts with Senior Designer(s) for projects including but not limited to, space planning, ceiling design, elevation development, millwork development and detailing, integrated built-in components, furniture and equipment planning, and finish pallet selection and plans
Work with Senior Designer(s) on the development of design solutions including researching and selecting finishes, materials, products, fixtures, and furniture for projects
Research interior products, maintain resource materials library, coordinate with local product reps, and maintain calendar
Attend project meetings and site visits
write meeting minutes and reports detailing observations
Support business development activities through assistance with aids such as presentations and renderings
Review completed plans, reports, estimates, and calculations prior to review by the supervisor or project manager
Work closely with project leadership and team to achieve a high level of project success
Apply a rigorous concept-based design process to justify decision-making
Requirements:
Actively pursuing a degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field
Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization and graphic software
REVIT strongly preferred
Basic knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and Autodesk
Basic Knowledge of materials, construction techniques, specifications, and building codes
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
