Job Description:

As an Interior Design Co-worker at IKEA, you will be responsible for using your home furnishing competence to create inspiring room settings and sales support areas, while ensuring the IKEA identity is maintained. You will gather insights about local customer living situations, contributing to the creation of diverse visual impressions and practical home furnishing solutions. Your role includes collaborative tasks within workshops, developing action plans, planning and implementing range presentation solutions, and actively contributing to business growth. You will also work on the shop floor while keeping visitor safety and aesthetics in mind.

Job Responsibility:

Use home furnishing competence to create home furnishing solutions in room settings, homes, vignettes, and sales support areas that reflect the IKEA identity
contribute insights from home visit interviews and translate this knowledge into locally relevant, functional, aesthetic, and commercial solutions
contribute to the creation of a Showroom matrix reflecting diverse styles, living situations, and price levels
ensure quality, simplicity, efficiency, and cost consciousness in implementing range presentation solutions
stay updated about trends to contribute in workshops and generate creative ideas
contribute to department action plans and execute agreed plans
collaborate with teams, act quickly on commercial opportunities, and understand the impact of actions on financial results
keep visitor safety in mind while working on the shop floor.

Requirements:

Education in interior design and visual competence with a keen eye for aesthetics
ability to generate new ideas and concepts
passion for home furnishing, retailing, design, and understanding people's life at home
ability to draw, visualize, and present ideas
ability to work in a fast retail environment
enthusiasm for assignments and teamwork
good attention to detail and practical hands-on approach to work
basic communication skills in English
computer proficiency with knowledge and experience of relevant software (e.g., AutoCad)
ability to combine commercial, aesthetic, and practical skills
ability to visualize and present new ideas
teamwork and confident communication skills with different people
flexible and hands-on approach to responsibilities
ability to meet set deadlines
knowledge of home furnishing the IKEA way, range presentation the IKEA way, local market, interior design, and trends
understanding of the IKEA Concept and IKEA Brand objectives
passion for fast-paced, future-oriented retailing, home furnishing, and the IKEA product range.
