This is a contract role where the Interim Plant Manager will lead operations at a manufacturing facility in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The role involves overseeing daily operations, meeting safety and quality standards, driving efficiency, reducing costs, and achieving organizational targets while fostering a collaborative work environment.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee daily plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met
Develop and execute production schedules, inventory controls, and workforce plans to meet organizational targets
Implement process optimization strategies, including Lean manufacturing principles, to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Provide leadership and mentorship to direct reports, fostering growth and teamwork
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align manufacturing processes with company objectives
Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards, maintaining high operational performance
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and track progress
Lead initiatives to reduce operational costs and improve budget alignment
Drive cultural transformation efforts to promote a safe and efficient work environment
Manage equipment utilization and maintenance to support uninterrupted production
Requirements:
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing operations leadership roles
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
Expertise in Lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies
Proven ability to manage plant operations, achieve performance targets, and lead teams effectively
Strong communication and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in advanced Excel and manufacturing systems
experience with Infor or similar platforms is preferred
Industry knowledge in flexible packaging, converting, or flexographic printing is advantageous
Physical ability to work onsite in a plant environment, including standing and walking for extended periods
