Job Description:

We are currently seeking candidates for an Interim Payroll Manager at a telecommunications co. with a location in Boston, MA, 02116. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of automated payroll processing experience and 3+ years of recent payroll manager experience overseeing a large payroll and creating a collaborative team environment. Hourly Pay Rate: Between $50.00-$55.00 (based on relevant work experience) within a 40-hour workweek. Duration: 6 months. On-site 3 days per week. Starts April 28, 2026.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee and manage payroll processing team
  • Oversee the processing of biweekly payroll
  • Oversee quarter-end payroll process
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of payroll data by conducting reconciliations and detailed audits to ensure accurate processing
  • Ensure timely maintenance of payroll records
  • Assist with entry of payroll transactions (timesheets, vacation requests, direct deposits, tax changes) into the payroll system as necessary
  • Manage or assist with special projects (system enhancements and payroll upgrades)
  • Review and recommend changes to payroll processes and reports
  • assist with implementing changes
  • Work with service providers to ensure federal, state, and local taxes are filed, reported, and appropriately funded
  • Work cross-functionally with internal business partners
  • Create a strong collaborative team environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Minimum 8+ years of automated payroll processing experience
  • Strong knowledge of ADP required
  • ADP Vantage is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are a must
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
