Job Description

We are looking for an Interim IT Director to provide strategic leadership and operational stability for our client's Information Technology Department. This position is designed to ensure seamless continuity of IT services, support a skilled and independent team, and guide ongoing projects while our client determines its long-term plans. This is a long-term contract role offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a pivotal transition phase.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee daily IT operations to ensure uninterrupted services across all departments
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the IT team while maintaining current workflows and systems
  • Act as a stabilizing force during leadership transitions, offering a third-party perspective
  • Empower and support a team of subject matter experts who independently manage their responsibilities
  • Monitor the progress of ongoing projects and operational initiatives to keep them on track
  • Collaborate with leadership to align IT strategies with organizational goals
  • Step in as a hands-on leader when necessary to address immediate technical needs
  • Foster a positive and forward-thinking departmental culture
  • Ensure the department’s infrastructure and systems remain secure and efficient
  • Advise on the gradual transition to cloud-based services and other modern technologies

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing IT operations and leading technical teams
  • Proficiency in Active Directory and configuration management
  • Knowledge of backup technologies and strategies to ensure data integrity
  • Familiarity with Cisco technologies and networking solutions
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware and troubleshooting processes
  • Ability to manage infrastructure transitions, including cloud adoption and networking upgrades
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to guide a self-sufficient team
  • Proven ability to maintain stability and operational continuity during periods of organizational change
