Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Interim HRIS Manager to support a government HR team during a critical period of Workday implementation and heavy testing. This role backfills a recent retirement and provides essential leadership and operational continuity. The ideal contractor will be a hands‑on HRIS leader who can quickly assimilate into a tenured team, provide oversight, support Workday testing, and ensure day‑to‑day HRIS operations continue smoothly.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and support Workday testing, including participation in build meetings and execution of testing scenarios
  • Conduct data review and validation ahead of the July 2026 Workday go‑live
  • Provide organizational oversight, ensuring tasks, deadlines, and follow‑ups stay on track
  • Support a tenured HRIS team while the Deputy Director focuses on Workday project demands
  • Supervising daily HRIS operations and supporting a team of four
  • Training HRIS staff and end users on system functionality
  • Documenting system processes and developing user guides
  • Managing employee performance and ensuring quality of work output
  • Maintaining accuracy, integrity, and security of employee data
  • Leading HRIS implementations and data migrations
  • Adjusting employee time, attendance, and accrual records
  • Uploading pay changes via mass action imports
  • Implementing classification and compensation changes
  • Updating job class master, position control, pay ranges, and salary/accrual tables in Munis
  • Executing year‑end accrual rollovers
  • Assigning and managing tickets through the Rite Ticketing system
  • Reviewing and approving Personnel Action Forms
  • Interpreting Civil Service Rules
  • Developing standard and ad‑hoc HR reports

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of HRIS leadership experience, preferably in public sector or government environments
  • Strong experience with Workday testing
  • implementation experience highly preferred
  • Familiarity with Munis or similar public‑sector ERP systems (preferred, not required)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support HRIS teams
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work 100% onsite and thrive in a fast‑paced, project‑heavy environment
