Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Interim Housing Compliance Manager to lead and manage housing compliance across a maintenance service within the social housing sector. This is a key interim role responsible for ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory housing health and safety requirements, including gas, electrical, fire safety, water hygiene, and asbestos management. You will play a critical role in maintaining safe, compliant homes and driving continuous improvement across services.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure full compliance with housing health and safety legislation and regulatory standards
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance frameworks and monitoring systems
  • Oversee statutory inspections, servicing, and safety programmes
  • Manage contractor performance and ensure delivery to required standards
  • Lead on audits, inspections, and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions where required
  • Produce clear compliance reports for senior leadership
  • Provide expert compliance advice and guidance across the organisation

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a housing compliance role within social housing
  • Strong working knowledge of housing health and safety legislation
  • Experience managing compliance teams and external contractors
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH)
