Job Responsibility:

  • Lead governance activities to align with organisational goals and compliance requirements
  • Manage and advise on governance structure and best practises, ensuring compliance with relevant statutory bodies
  • Oversee data protection matters, implementing strategies in line with UK GDPR
  • Support the EDI Committee in executing the College's external EDI plan
  • Develop and maintain internal governance systems, policies, and processes
  • Manage committee business effectively, ensuring timely decision-making
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Governance team

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in governance within a membership or not-for-profit setting
  • Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders on governance-related strategic decisions
  • Strong knowledge of data protection, information governance, and relevant laws
  • Experience in leading high-performing teams
  • Excellent attention to detail and formal writing skills
  • Ability to influence and maintain the confidence of senior stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of commercial development impacts within a non-profit context
  • Experience with equality and diversity law and practises
  • Familiarity with the governance of formal meetings
  • Familiarity with governance management software is a plus
