T2MResourcing are working with a national charity who have an opportunity for an experienced and hands-on Interim Head of Finance to provide strong financial leadership during a key transition period for our charity. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will stabilise and strengthen the finance function, improve reporting and controls, enhance forecasting and financial insight, and support confident decision-making across the organisation. Part-Time (3 days per week), Hybrid working Competitive day rate up to £500 per day – Immediate start Location – Shrewsbury As Interim Head of Finance key responsibilities will include: Lead the day-to-day finance operation while reviewing and improving systems, processes, controls, and reporting. Bring clarity, structure, and calm leadership, helping the organisation navigate change while maintaining excellent financial stewardship. Work closely with Trustees, budget holders, auditors, funders, and external providers to ensure the charity’s finances are robust, transparent, and fit for the future. This role is ideal for an experienced interim finance leader who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced charity environment and quickly building credibility with stakeholders at all levels.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the day-to-day finance operation while reviewing and improving systems, processes, controls, and reporting

Requirements:

  • Significant senior finance leadership experience, including interim assignments
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or equivalent senior-level experience
  • Strong UK charity finance experience, including restricted funds, grant reporting, and Charities SORP (FRS 102)
  • Advanced knowledge of Xero and experience improving finance systems and reporting
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling capability
  • Proven experience improving financial controls and processes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders and Trustees
  • Hands-on, organised, adaptable, and able to deliver under pressure
  • Candidates MUST be based in the UK and eligible to work in the UK on a permanent full-time basis
  • Candidates MUST have UK charity sector finance experience.
