Job Description:

Applications and nominations are invited for the full-time position of Interim Head, Department of Clinical Sciences. This position requires a doctor in veterinary medicine (or equivalent), and clinical associate professor or higher rank in the Department of Clinical Sciences. Preferred qualifications include experience with research, boarded in a relevant specialty, or other advanced training (masters or PhD). The Interim Head will be the chief administrative officer of the department and is responsible for oversight and direction of teaching, research and outreach. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an open, participatory administrative style that promotes a scholarly and collegial environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as the chief administrative officer for the Department of Clinical Sciences
  • Oversight and direction of teaching, research and outreach
  • Clinical and teaching responsibilities (amount to be negotiated)
  • Faculty recruitment
  • New faculty orientation and mentoring
  • Annual review of faculty

  • Outcome assessment and clinical training program management

  • Special projects as assigned by the Dean

Requirements:

  • Doctor of veterinary medicine or equivalent degree
  • Associate or full professor in department of clinical sciences
