Interim Financial Reporting / Statutory Accountant- 3-month contract | £450–£475 per day | Outside IR35- Oxfordshire (Hybrid). We’re supporting a growing, fast-paced business seeking an experienced Interim Financial Reporting / Statutory Accountant to provide specialist technical support through their year-end period. This is a hands-on, project-based role focused on delivering high-quality statutory accounts under IFRS standards, stepping in to add immediate technical capability to the finance team. This opportunity suits a strong technical accountant from a practice or audit background who can quickly assess requirements, take ownership and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead preparation of IFRS the year-end statutory accounts
  • Own technical accounting areas including group consolidations and disclosures
  • Support acquisition accounting and fair value assessments
  • Deliver GAAP to IFRS conversions where required
  • Account for complex instruments (share-based payments, share options, convertible loan notes, equity transactions)
  • Prepare and review technical papers and accounting memos
  • Act as primary contact for external auditors, managing queries and schedules
  • Strengthen processes and controls to ensure audit readiness

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Strong IFRS technical reporting expertise with recent year-end delivery experience
  • Practice/Big 4/Top 10 audit background highly desirable
  • Proven experience in statutory accounting contract roles
  • Comfortable working independently and delivering to tight deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills and confident handling complex financial data
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and able to “hit the ground running”
