Job Description

A fast-growing business backed by private equity is seeking a Financial Modeler to build and establish their financial planning and analysis capability. The company has strong underlying data but lacks the structured financial models and frameworks needed to drive strategic decision-making. This is a project-based role with a clear scope and timeline, offering the chance to make an immediate impact on how the business understands and forecasts its financial performance. You will work closely with the finance and operations teams to design and implement a comprehensive financial model that captures revenue forecasting, customer metrics, and key business drivers. Your role will be to not only build the model but also coach the internal team on how to maintain and evolve it independently. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has worked through a PE investment cycle and understands what financial rigor looks like at that level.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and build a comprehensive financial model covering revenue forecasting, customer acquisition costs, net recurring revenue, and other key business metrics
  • Work with the finance team to structure data and establish repeatable processes for financial planning and analysis
  • Coach and mentor internal team members on financial modelling best practices, terminology, and how to maintain the model going forward
  • Deliver a model that supports budgeting, long-range planning, and investor reporting
  • Ensure the model captures industry-standard metrics and can be easily updated as the business evolves
  • Provide training and documentation so the internal team can independently manage and update the model after the project concludes

Requirements

  • Experience building financial models in a PE-backed or similar high-rigor environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in revenue forecasting, FP&A, and financial planning
  • Strong understanding of SaaS or subscription business metrics (ARR, net recurring revenue, customer cohorts, etc.)
  • Ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable frameworks for non-financial stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling tools
  • Experience coaching or mentoring others on financial processes and best practices
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results within a defined timeline
