Job Description:

Allen Lane are currently supporting a large Council with the recruitment of a qualified finance professional to lead the financial workstream of a major Traded Services review. This role will play a key role in reviewing and shaping future service delivery and ensuring best value for public spending. This role is ideal for someone who combines financial rigour with strategic insight and can translate data into practical, impactful decisions.

Job Responsibility:

Lead financial analysis, costing models, forecasting and scenario planning
Benchmark performance and evaluate financial sustainability across traded services
Conduct options appraisals and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations
Develop reporting frameworks and present findings to senior stakeholders and committees
Work collaboratively across services, navigating complex organisational and political environments

Requirements:

Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with local authority trading services experience
Advanced skills in financial modelling, forecasting and business case development
Strong understanding of public sector funding frameworks and performance reporting
Excellent stakeholder engagement and strategic communication skills
